Amy McKenzie    space and time: the color of black

Opening at the Goldleaf Gallery inside Goldleaf Framemakers of Santa Fe

Reception for the artist on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm

Amy has been working with the circular form in many different media for more than twenty years. Traditionally trained in painting, sculpture and photography, she has steered away from the extensive color theory of her artistic history to focus on form, line and space. Working mainly in ink on vellum she also incorporates photographic and sculptural elements to create layered representations of energy as a progression of time. Optics also play a role in her three dimensional pieces thereby establishing environments to experience a new aesthetic reality.
